Alzheimer Society programs in CK

I am currently in my third year of health sciences at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo. I started working for the Alzheimer society this past summer where Tara and I launched this initiative. It took off and we have been working on it ever since! Tara has been incredible to work with, you really couldn't have anyone better to tag along with me for this presentation!

 

A brief synopsis of the course: The program is a free, 1 hour education course that educates teams on the complexities of dementia, how to communicate with someone affected by dementia as well as how to create a comfortable environment for everyone. By the end of the course participants will feel more comfortable when interacting with someone who has dementia and know how to serve them best!
