Chatham Sunrise Rotarian Audrey Chevalier receives the prestigious Rotary Foundation Major Donor Award.

President Ken's Swan 🦢 Song: On July 6th Chatham Sunrise Rotary filled up the little picnic shelter at Thames Grove Conservation Area with our Rotary family, including special guests PDG Barry Fraser, Tilbury Rotarian Dave McGuire, Kim Pierce and Executive Secretary Beth Walters.

The club gathered to celebrate a successful and extremely challenging year with club president Ken Bechard. Not quite a swan song - as Mr. Bechard will retain his position for another year along with ample assistance from incoming president Leigh-Anne Perrin, the gathering was a summary of the year's achievements, and most importantly the presentation of some special awards commemorating club member's accomplishments.

Awards distributed at the meeting include a Rotary Foundation Major Donor Award, Level 1 given out to our own PDG and long time treasurer, Audrey Chevalier. A Major Donor Award, Level 1 is essentially a Paul Harris Fellow +9 which means $10,000USD has been personally donated by Audrey or in her name to the Rotary Foundation.

President Ken presented Danielle Hunter with her second Paul Harris Fellow award for her weekly e-newsletter and prolific contributions promoting the club on social networks.

Doug Goldsmith was awarded his second Paul Harris Fellow due to his contributions to the Rotary Foundation.

And lastly, Audrey presented flowers to Beth Walters for her diligent, and indispensible recordkeeping on behalf of the club.
