"The Paul Harris Fellow is the highest form of recognition given by Rotary clubs world-wide. Individuals who have shown by exemplary effort, sacrifice or dedication to the causes and principles of Rotary, that they deserve the recognition of the Paul Harris Fellow, are eligible to be nominated, whether they are members of Rotary or not."
 
Notable Paul Harris Fellows around the world include Mother Teresa, former US President Jimmy Carter, former Russian President Boris Yeltsin, and polio vaccine developer Jonas Salk. 
 
Rotarians are also eligible for Paul Harris Fellowship for every $1,000 they donate to the Rotary Foundation, supporting such as areas as the Annual Fund, Polio Plus, World Fund and the Disaster Response Fund.
